Wednesday saw the sun cream joining the party as we headed off to some fields in Cheshire to relax and 'sample' lots of free cheese. I went to the Cheshire Show years ago on a school trip and all I remember were tacky stalls where you paid a lot of money to win cuddly toys that you had no desire for 5mins after winning. This time however, I saw a new side to the show with the competitions mainly involving horses. I got by with the girls as my guides as to what the hell was going on in each event and I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. The event called Mounted Games was one where Maia's friend was competing, but to me it just looked crazy! Very scary just watching! I was very impressed by their ability to control the horse and pick things up etc... Towards the end we ventured into some random areas and I saw this fine display of mechanical engineering. Booyah! I'm happy to say I did not get burnt (solely down to liberal application of suncream), and despite seeing one girl get squished under a horse, it was a gentle relief to have a rather peaceful, injury free day. | I'm off to the Alps on Sunday, so the next few posts will most likely all be clumped together when I get internet signal and will undoubtedly be about cycling. Fingers crossed I don't fall off a cliff :D |
